Our job is now easier, more comfortable, and more efficient than 20 years ago. At that time, we could work only from the office and in front of stationary computers, while today we can easily do our job on our laptop and from home.
We work with programming languages daily: they have also evolved in the last 20 years. Java, C, and C++ were the main ones: while the first two are still important, thanks to the development of the web, the most popular ones now are JavaScript and Python.
The fact that we perform tasks faster and more effectively today is due, among others, to the transition from Waterfall to Agile and the replacement of monolithic applications with microservices: thanks to the latter solution, our teams can continuously deliver little pieces of software totally independent from each other.
The last years have seen the development of cloud technologies. ”Thanks to those technologies you can forget about hardware. They allow you to implement software in a rapid and easy way, as well as offering infinite possibilities when it comes to scalability” – Urszula Kałuska, member of Sabre’s Women in Technology group.
